A deltoid (or tricuspid) is the locus of a point on the circumference of a circle rolling inside another circle with a radius three times larger in magnitude. It is a hypocycloid, a curve formed by a point on the circumference of a rolling circle internally tangent to another, larger circle.

This curve was studied by Euler in 1745.
